"The Staying Ability" - Why is tractor weight important?

During conversations with customers shopping for tractors, one question that seems to pop-up quite often is why the weight of the tractor is so important. In today's market all manufacturers are interested in their bottom line and the easiest way to save their money is to cut the amount of natural resources used in manufacturing. Steel is one of the biggest expenses and therefore every pound of steel that is removed from the end product saves the manufacturer money. The only problem is that when you take away steel from a tractor it reduces the work ability of the tractor, especially if it has a front loader. Weight makes the tractor more stable and the lower the ground clearance the more stability the tractor has. Many manufacturers today are reducing the amount of steel used in their tractors without reducing their price. When you compare horsepower to gross weight, Kioti Tractors are one of the heaviest tractors on the market and there's no question that you're getting your money's worth. Just something to consider when you are shopping for a tractor!
